How to Build a Robot

In the Introduction to Engineering course, students get to build Lego robots. This is not your average engineering course, it’s much more hands on and gives students a taste of what engineering will involve after graduation.

Engineering Focus Day and UA Up Close REGISTER NOW

November 20, February 26, March 27
These dates involve a day on campus at The University of Arizona. In the morning you will learn about the College of Engineering from our Dean and the Engineering Ambassadors. After lunch, choose from a list of sessions offered by UA. You will end the day with a tour of the College of Engineering.
• Engineering Focus Day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m (30 minutes longer than UA Up Close).

UA Up Close REGISTER NOW

This is a bit different -- instead of spending the full morning with Engineering, you will choose two different college sessions. And instead of an extensive engineering tour, this will be an abbreviated tour. Program is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Suite With SWE REGISTER NOW

November 1-2, 2009 & February 21-22, 2010
This program is designed for female high school seniors (SWE stands for Society of Women Engineers). It includes an overnight stay in a residence hall, family dinner, attending classes and getting acquainted with campus. Space is limited. See the Suite with SWE Web page.

Friday FAQs REGISTER NOW

Most Fridays
September through April, the College of Engineering offers information sessions to high school students and their families. Current students will be on hand to offer their student perspectives. The session is from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. in the Engineering Building, Room 210.
This session ends in time to attend the 10 a.m. Campus Tour.

Individual Visit and Shadowing REGISTER NOW

By Appointment
We can arrange a visit for high school juniors and seniors to shadow a current engineering student to a class. This can be done in conjunction with a campus tour or an Honors College Information Session. Make a day of it! Please give 10 days advance notice. Available Monday to Friday.

Engineering Design Day

This day showcases our engineering seniors and their capstone projects. Come hear their presentations and view their projects. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with these students. If you don't know what engineers do, this will help answer your questions.
